I say hair loss is inevitable, be it postpartum hair fall or your kid tugging at your hair. One way or the other, it will leave you depressed and your scalp likely to be bald (Pun intended). Also if you have frizzy dry hair it adds up to the heartbreak.
I know this is a common phenomenon, if questioned every one raise their hand to say ‘I have’, ‘you have’, and ‘everyone have’ the hair issues. So I came across a word of mouth about Mamaearth Argan hair mask and really wanted to test it on myself. So I ordered myself this hair mask when there was some discount offer running (:D) .
How it looks like?
The hair mask comes in a large white box following their theme of products. The quantity was huge and smells like rosemary.
It costs Rs.599 for 200ml.
Purified Water, Milk Protein, Curd Extract, Argan Oil, Rosemary Oil, Cedarwood Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Sodium Citrate, Brassica Alcohol, Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Hydrolysed Collagen, Sodium Hyaluronate & Potassium Sorbate.
What it claims?
Hey moms, worried about that dreaded hair fall post giving birth? Well, try me and I will take care of your beautiful hair. I am extremely hydrating and have restorative hair repair properties. I repair damaged hair, revitalize dull hair, deeply condition and nourish. I also ensure you have the least hair fall by promoting new hair growth and keeping your scalp healthy and happy. The mask is completely free of harmful chemicals, which means NO Parabens, NO Sulfates, NO Mineral oil, NO dyes, NO synthetic fragrances.
The first claim that drew me towards this product is that this hair mask is parabens and sulfates free, has no mineral oil and contains no synthetic fragrances. The second thing which made me try this is because it contains Argan & Avocado oil which makes hair softer, silkier and shinier, Collagen that repairs damaged hair and Tea tree oil for dandruff free hair. All these claims other than the Women’s group’s assurance!!.
The hair mask is of thick white consistency and smell pleasantly. We can use it as a regular conditioner, beside as a leave-in conditioner. I applied good quantity of the product from hair shafts till the ends and felt the mask working. It could be due to tea tree oil and argan oil. I used this mask in both ways and found not much change in the hair texture, except it will moisturize a little.
Initially I felt may be I was not giving it a fair chance and after using it for about 2 months, I can strongly say that it has done absolutely nothing for the hair fall other than conditioning the hair. I felt my regular “Organix Moroccan Argan hair conditioner’ was doing fairly well. And oh boy, who are these people spreading word-of-mouth btw??
- Huge tub and so lasts long
- Moisturizes well for the frizzy and dry hair
- Absolutely does nothing for Hair fall
- Takes some time to absorb completely if you use it as leave-in conditioner
- Hard to tame hair for a hairstyle (yeah L)
Overall rating: ♥
Will I buy it again:
Absolutely No. I will look for some other products which stand by the claims.
